Terminal Velocity
In the fall of a severe friction, the friction force is not constant, but depends on the instantaneous velocity. There comes a moment when the weight force (for the fall) is equal to the force of friction (as opposed to fall) so that the resultant of all acting forces is zero and the speed is constant. This final speed achieved is called terminal.
This phenomenon is observed in paratroopers and objects falling through viscous fluids.
